The InPost Consumer Tech domain team is rapidly growing and we’re looking for a hands-on Staff Engineer to be the technical lead, guiding the architecture and design decisions, and implementing best practices to ensure a successful transition to the cloud and unifying all the country-specific applications into unique global solutions.
The Consumer Tech group is responsible for all customer facing solutions, such as User Core Platform, Mobile applications, Web and CMS applications, Payment solutions and Marketing Communication Integrations. We are growing and expanding across Europe, and we need 3 Staff Engineers to help us unlock the capabilities to drive customer value and innovation with a focus on operational excellence and visibility via highly scalable and reliable global platforms.

10+ years of software engineering and product delivery experience, from those at least 3 of them on a Senior Individual Contributor position (Senior Engineer, Staff Engineer, Tech Lead, Architect or similar)

Strong background in algorithms and high-performance distributed systems

Hands-on experience with multiple tech stacks (Java, NodeJS, Mobile), with expertise in at least one of them, and seasoned in multiple architectures, from Monoliths to Microservices to Serverless.

Experience in cloud infrastructure technologies (ideally GCP) and past experiences with cloud migration. Nice to have experience consolidating solutions from separate markets into a single global one.

Excellent (English) communication and analytical skills. Nice to have knowledge of Polish or French language, but not mandatory.
JOB SPECIFICATION
Cloud Migration:
-
Lead the cloud migration strategy, working closely with cross-functional teams to define the roadmap, timelines, and dependencies.

Design and implement scalable and secure cloud infrastructure solutions, leveraging cloud-native services and technologies (ideally GCP).

Collaborate with infrastructure teams to ensure seamless integration and smooth transition of applications and services to the cloud.

Optimize the performance, availability, and cost-effectiveness of cloud resources.
Microservices Architecture:

Drive the design and implementation of microservices architecture using Java, NodeJS or Mobile (Android/Kotlin and iOS/Swift).

Define best practices, standards, and guidelines for microservices development, deployment, and monitoring.

Collaborate with software development teams to design and build scalable, resilient, and fault-tolerant microservices.

Mentor and provide technical guidance to development teams in adopting microservices patterns and practices.
Technical Leadership:

Act as a subject matter expert on cloud migration, microservices, and related technologies.

Lead and participate in architectural reviews, code reviews, and technical discussions to ensure high-quality deliverables.

Maintain at least 40% of hands-on impact, meaning not only System Design but also coding and incident handling.

Stay updated with the latest industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to cloud computing, microservices, and DevOps.

Provide guidance and support to cross-functional teams, including developers and infrastructure engineers.
Collaboration and Communication:

Collaborate effectively with stakeholders, including business units, product owners, and project managers, to align technical solutions with business requirements.

Communicate complex technical concepts and solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Work closely with global teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
