Shopify Solutions Architect

A solutions architect at Shero Commerce is expected to be a problem solver, a consultant, and an out of the box thinker. Often they are professional questioners, relentless in their pursuit of digging deeply for answers.

The solutions architect is responsible for gathering requirements from current and potential clients and creating complete scope of work (SOW) documents based on client requirements. Additionally, the solutions architect assists the sales team with client calls and directing the discovery process.

Once the handoff from a sales representative occurs, the solutions architect will oversee the entire client engagement process which includes scheduling calls, keeping the client apprised of the timeline of discovery and engaging cross-functional team members to collaborate on solutions.

Shero Solutions Architects are experts in their respective platforms, but they are not expected to know everything about engineering or software development. When interacting with clients, oftentimes the solutions architect is a translator between the business and technology division and vice versa.

  • The current opening is for an experienced Shopify subject matter expert.
  • This Solutions Architect will be responsible for consulting with the Shero team, clients, and prospective clients about how the Shopify platform and its associated ecosystem can solve business problems and pain points.
  • This role is fully remote, working with a globally hybrid team—both in-office and remote team members.
  • This role will require regular international travel to Shero offices in Tirana, Albania and Red Hook, New York (USA).
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
  • Drive scope definition, requirements analysis, functional and technical design, application build, product configuration, unit testing, and production deployment.
    • Identify potential issues between system capabilities and the project specifications.
    • Propose new solutions to work around these limitations.
    • Ensure that global solutions adhere to non-functional and compliance requirements at the local markets.
  • Assist in creating the handoff document from Discovery to Production.
  • Assist the Support Services team in finding the right solution when required for tickets.
  • Assist the sales team in talking with clients and selling Shero as an elite brand.
  • Write architecture specifications and diagrams for feature enhancements, integrations, and solutions. Demonstrate leadership ability to back decisions with research and the “why.”
    • Articulate several options, the pros and cons for each, and a recommendation.
    • Keep a strong focus on high quality throughout the entire process.
  • Maintain the CRM with consistent updates on all required documents.
  • Assemble the Scope of Work Documents including, estimates, costs, and expected third-party integration costs for sales.
  • Document client business or functional requirements
  • Act as a liaison from Business to Technology and Technology to Business. Work with stakeholders to understand their business objectives and architect technology solutions across multiple systems in order to bring them to life.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding and proficiency of new and existing technologies within the appropriate technology stack and advise on how core solutions should be designed and leveraged across the environment.
    • Coordinate with external vendor partners to understand and evaluate new capabilities to leverage to enhance the consumer experience and drive revenue growth.
  • Through a lens of continuous improvement, identify gaps and opportunities to improve systems and processes that drive growth, create efficiencies and deliver best-in-class customer experiences.
  • Ensure that DTC/B2B technology and development best practices are fully integrated into new projects, including user experience standards, accessibility, performance optimization, localization, scalability, and device compatibility.

Requirements

  • Highly organized
  • Fluent in written & spoken English
  • 3+ years of experience with Shopify, Shopify Plus, and the Shopify ecosystem (third party apps, services, etc.)
  • Able to process information and research topics quickly
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Able to have difficult conversations with clients and potential clients when they make unrealistic requests
  • Occasional domestic and international travel
